My Tips for the Summer in the Office |
I am one of the self-employed people who continue to work in the summer and do not change anything.
This includes that I continue to work in my office in my house and do more or less the same thing as usual.
Since I still work alone, this is also necessary so that my blogs and websites continue to be maintained, the customers are satisfied and I continue to earn money.
In addition, as a family, we rarely go on vacation or fly during the summer holidays. We'd better save that for autumn and winter.
But I'm still changing a few things.
Customer Orders in Summer
However, there are still a few changes to the way I work in the other seasons.
So I'm slowing down a bit, which is noticeable, among other things, in the fact that I don't accept or start any major new customer projects in the summer. Overtime and periods of stress are okay now and then, but it doesn't have to be in midsummer.
Instead, I tend to use the summer for administrative work and do things that have got stuck.
On very hot days, I also prefer to work mornings and evenings and take it easy at lunchtime.
Of course, I try to go outside when the weather is nice and use my garden at the house accordingly, but that's not an option when it's hot.
All in all, I have to say that I'll be reducing my work for customers a bit in the summer.
My Blogs and Websites in the Summer
It's different with my blogs and websites. For me, it means “stay tuned” even in summer.
On the one hand, to work against the decline in visitors that usually occurs in summer. After all, I would like to have a lot of readers in the summer and offer them something permanently.
In addition, in my experience, it has a positive effect, especially in autumn, if I stick to it in summer. Then there are usually new visitor records. One reason for this is certainly that many others let their blogs and websites slide significantly in the summer. If you stay on the ball, on the other hand, you build up an advantage that pays off later.
However, I also react to the summer myself. In the hot months, there are often shorter articles. I save the very elaborate and research-intensive articles for autumn and winter.
And I look forward to every interview and every guest article, as this of course also means a little less effort for me.
I also use the summer to try something new and I collect ideas for autumn and winter. Just because you take it easy in summer, you can work on your blog and make plans.
In general, I try to strike a good balance between “normal” and “not overdoing it”.
