After all, it very much depends on whether you only rely on AdSense advertising or, for example, conclude direct advertising deals with companies.

What is clear from this list of examples is that hardly anyone goes public with their earnings on YouTube. Estimates are therefore necessary in many cases, although I would always think quite conservatively here.
Nevertheless, the YouTube stars earn well.
Differences Between Germany And The USA
There are of course differences between Germany and the USA, as well as blogs and co.
On the one hand, the range should be mentioned here. A maximum of 100 million people can be reached with German videos, although the real achievable value is of course significantly lower. On the other hand, if you publish videos in English, the potential range is many times that.
Another difference lies in the earning potential. AdSense for YouTube is also available here, but beyond that Germany is not yet as advanced as the USA. There are now some YouTube networks that you can join as a successful channel operator. Then you get not only help and support, but also new opportunities for financial cooperation with companies. Nevertheless, the USA is still a step ahead here.
And so it is easier to be the largest fish in a smaller pond, but as a German-speaking YouTuber, there are more limits to the top.
Fun Or Stress?
Many beginners are sure to imagine life as a YouTuber too positively. Gamble, make videos, and make money all day. But the YouTube world isn't quite that perfect.

It should also not be underestimated that one is very dependent on YouTube. Should Google block its channel, the income from one day to the next will be 0 euros. You should try to set up a website or blog at the same time. Successful YouTubers such as Gronkh try to distribute the success to other pillars. Own website, strong social profiles, additional “employees”. That relieves the pressure a bit as if you were all alone on YouTube.
How Many Video Views Are Required
The exciting question many beginners ask is how many video views are needed to make money on YouTube.
There is an interview with a full-time YouTuber, who estimates that you need around 2 million video views for around $ 5,000 a month in revenue (there are many other interesting insights into life as a full-time video producer in the video).
He has been doing this since 2010, so it should be clear that success will not come overnight. Gronkh, for example, has been doing it for just as long.
By the way, all AdSense earnings on YouTube are split 45/55. Google gets 45% and the video owner gets 55%. Most YouTube partners get between 0.30 and 2.50 euros per 1,000 video views.
Other sources put an average advertising cost of $ 7.60 per 1,000 video impressions in 2013. The 55% for the publisher would then be around $ 4.18.
On patreon.com even calculated that comes with 1 million video views only $ 100. I think that is a little bit too little.
But it will only be worthwhile if you have other sources of income besides AdSense. Affiliate marketing, advertising, sponsors, etc. often bring significantly more to the well-known YouTubers than AdSense.

Even if many of the figures regarding the revenue on YouTube are only estimates, it should be clear that you need a lot of video views to earn enough to live on.
Whether it is 1 million or 2 million video views a month is of secondary importance, nothing goes overnight here in any case. Most successful YouTubers started several years ago and most of them don't even make it to become successful.
Therefore, one should not be under any illusions here. There is potential and video usage continues to rise, but it is not easy to make a living from videos.
