My Construction Dryer Niche Website After 16 Months - Traffic, Revenue, And More - As promised, I look back at the development of my niche websites now and then.

This time around, I'm going to take a look at my niche website from 2015 and see what I've done with it since then.

I also give figures on the traffic, rankings, and income of this website. Was it worth it?

Of course, I also created a site during the 2015 Niche Site Challenge. It was a product-related niche website.

The idea for this came to me when we were building our house the year before. I moved into our new office building at the beginning of 2015 and the memories of the construction phase were still fresh.

That is why I chose the topic “dehumidifiers and building dryers” for my niche website. In March 2015, www.luftentfeuchter-und-bautuchter.de went online

For the construction, the marketing, and the monetization, I proceeded as I described it in my niche page construction e-book.

The start was a bit sluggish, but since then my site has developed very well, as you can see below.

Expenditure

Before I get to the specific figures, a few words about the effort I've put into the site since the 2015 Challenge.

After the challenge, I wrote and added a few new articles. On the one hand, there were background articles, but also a few product presentations.

But now I haven't done anything on the niche website for nine months. And yet, my niche website performed very well.

Traffic development

Luftentfeuchter-und-bautuchter.de has been online for around 16 months. After the end of the niche site challenge, the demand on the topic developed well, as you can see in Google Trends.

It is difficult to say exactly why this increase is due to the bad floods that have recently contributed to it. Overall, the increased demand over the past few months has had a very positive effect on my site's traffic. But that will probably not last in this form.

In general, a good development could already be seen, which has picked up strongly in the last few months. the previous record was reached last June with 6,287 visits from Google.

The traffic from April 1st, 2015 to July 31st, 2016 totaled 77,881 sessions and 158,374 page views.

An average of 2.03 pages was accessed per session.

Rankings

One reason for the good number of visitors is of course the rankings, which have stabilized.

At least with the main keyword “construction dryer” (and its related search terms), I am very satisfied with the rankings, as you can see here in Market Samurai (unfortunately now discontinued).

For “construction dryer” you can see the current top 10 in Google. Only eBay is currently in front of me. In addition, there are of course a few AdWords ads. This evaluation also comes from Market Samurai.

In addition, many long-tail keywords add up to a relatively high amount of traffic.

However, there is still some catching up to do with my second main keyword “dehumidifier” or the search phrases derived from it. In terms of content, I would still have to do a lot here to land further ahead.

Overall, however, I am satisfied with the current status.

Revenue

Let's get to the most important thing about a niche website, revenue. During the niche site challenge, I wasn't really satisfied with that. By the end of the challenge, I was only able to earn 18.81 euros.

But since then the site has developed very well and you can see that in the revenue.

Google AdSense

During the challenge, I installed Google AdSense and left it there until autumn. Due to Google's request to include a cookie notice for AdSense, I removed the AdSense ads at short notice in September 2015.

In December I installed it again, including a cookie notice. Incidentally, this has not harmed the development of my niche website and its income.

From April 2015 to July 2016 I was able to earn a total of 282.79 euros with AdSense.

Amazon Affiliate Program

My main source of income is the Amazon affiliate program. Since I had built up a product-related niche site, this partner program fit in very well.

In addition, it turned out over time that I had chosen a very well-suited product. Construction dryers, in particular, have relatively high prices (usually between 200 and 500 euros) and there is a commission between 5 and 7 percent, which is very good. Every single sale is worthwhile.

There was a small low in the spring, but in the summer sales rose sharply again. I have to say that I was already satisfied with the “100 euros plus” income per month. The sharp rise in June was a bit unexpected.

From April 2015 to July 2016, I was able to earn a total of 2,269.02 euros with the Amazon partner program.

Total Income, Hourly Wages, And Passive Income

All in all, I made 2,551.81 euros in 16 months. I am very satisfied with that.

Even if the income will certainly not remain at the level of the last two months, I still expect total income to rise in the next 12 months.

During the challenge, I invested 43 hours in my niche website. In addition, there were around another 20 hours that I spent on new items and a little maintenance. That makes a total of 63 hours.

My fictitious hourly wage is currently around 40 euros. I think that is impressive.

In the future, I will certainly write a new article now and then and give a little maintenance, but by and large, it will still be almost passive income.

Conclusion

“Good things take time” is the motto and this also applies to niche websites. Of course, I would have liked to have increased my income during the challenge, but I think long-term with all of my projects.

And that approach has paid off with this niche website as well. Unfortunately, many beginners give up too quickly if they do not achieve great success within a very short time.

I hope this example gives you the strength and motivation to stick with it in the long term and not give up.
