I saw the first digital products, especially eBooks, early on in the US. More than 10 years ago, when I was still employed, these were already in English-language blogs and these products were often quite successful.

I have therefore been thinking about my own digital product for a long time, but put it off for a long time. One reason for this was that I wasn't sure whether it really worked in Germany. After all, such an eBook requires a lot of work in advance, with no guarantee of subsequent success.

But after the niche site challenge went down so well, I set out to write an eBook on building niche websites. I then worked on it for around a year and a half and incorporated my experience.

It was published in spring 2015 and became a great success. The eBook has become an important source of income for me.

So basically the best conditions for creating more eBooks and other digital products. For example, I am planning a video course. But it takes a lot of time and effort to create such products and I don't want to neglect my blog or work a lot of overtime, as my children currently need a lot of attention. That's why I'm making slow progress at the moment.

In any case, an important experience for me was that you should have a certain level of awareness, otherwise it will be difficult to sell many eBooks. I know other self-employed people on the Internet who are not well known or who do not have a large reach and their eBooks are not doing so well. 

Thanks to Digistore24, the Amazon Kindle Store and Co., eBooks are published quickly, but no one is buying them yet.

Digital products, especially eBooks, have a lot of potential in Germany, but it is still not easy. But if you stick with it and take marketing seriously, you can build up a good source of income with it.
