Link Rental - Tips, Dangers, Providers - Link rental is one of the most lucrative sources of income there is. Very good money can be made for very little space on your website.

But this source of income also offers risks, which I will report on in the following as well as practical tips, providers and my experiences. Among other things, I will go into the advantages and disadvantages and link articles that are worth reading.

To understand the background to link rental, I have to digress a little. It's about Google and its search engine.

In the meantime, Google uses many factors to determine the rankings (i.e. the order of the displayed search results for individual search terms), but backlinks from other websites are still very important.

It is a positive sign for Google if a website is linked by many other websites. This is why website operators try to get as many links as possible from other websites, blogs, etc.

While this is relatively easy for a blog like mine, other business websites find it difficult. Who links a company website or a niche website? That is why the link sale or link rental came about.

There were website operators who wanted backlinks and other website operators who would like to have such a link built into themselves for a fee.

And so for a long time the operators agreed to sell or rent links with one another. In order to make it easier, platforms were created that mediate between buyers and sellers of links.

There is an important difference between these two variants. When selling links, the buyer pays a one-off amount for a link, which should then usually remain indefinitely. In the case of link rental, on the other hand, a monthly amount is agreed that is paid for as long as the link exists or as long as the buyer wants the link.

With the first variant, more money comes in at the beginning, but then no more. As a link seller, you have to leave the link in your website, but you won't get any money for it later. That's why I would always prefer the second variant.

You can earn very good money with it, especially if the link leasing remains in place for a longer period of time.

Often you get 20, 30 or more euros per month for a link. This can be really worthwhile if you have several links that you rent out.

However, as good as the income opportunities from link rental are, it is a high-risk source of income. Of course, Google doesn't want links to be set for money. After all, Google only wants to include links in the ranking that were set because the website is so good.

Accordingly, Google is now checking whether links are suspicious and possibly have been set for money. This can lead to penalties in the ranking, both for the tenant of the link and for the landlord.

Therefore you should be careful with this source of income and not necessarily use it on your own main website. Many people therefore use link rental primarily on small side projects or niche websites, where it is not that bad if Google gets angry.

Of course, you shouldn't overdo it. Only a few links, which are also thematically appropriate, are nowhere near as noticeable as a dozen links on topics such as casino, poker or the like.

I used to make good money myself with link rental, but today I only rarely use it and not on important projects.

It's a very lucrative source of income, especially at the beginning, that can work well even on relatively new websites. Over time, other sources of income become more important, so that you don't want to risk your ranking in Google.

Since Google has acted significantly more aggressively against link sales and rentals in recent years, you should be really careful. Then link rental can still be quite lucrative.
