How Personal Is Your Personal Development?

How Personal Is Your Personal Development?
How Personal Is Your Personal Development? - Today’s Tip is not so much a money making tip in itself… it’s more of a personal SUCCESS Mantra that works very well for me, but of course before we can make money, we have to have the right thinking cap on. Here are some personal thoughts from me..

Sigmund Freud once said “We are born with a pleasure principle, that we will seek immediate gratification of needs, for which our bodies reward us with feelings of pleasure. The reverse is also true, and the pain principle says that, whilst seeking pleasure, people will also seek to avoid pain”.

This was later picked up by modern day personal development specialist, Anthony Robbins and renamed the Pain/Pleasure Principle.

Before we look at what motivates us, we should first check on “WHAT WE HAVE”.  It is no good being motivated if we are lacking the CORE elements of SUCCESS.. here is my take on it.

  1. Good Health - This is the number 1 principle of SUCCESS. If you don’t have good health, you don’t have anything. It’s no good making millions of dollars a year if your body is taking all your focus off WINNING…

If all you are thinking about is making it through the day, because you are in pain, or you are massively UNFIT or unhealthy, this is not success.. Look after your body.

  2. Relationships – Not just with other people, but with YOURSELF… We need other people in our lives, this is without doubt. It’s no good being the richest person you know, if YOU are all you know.

We need to interact with people, we bounce off other people, we enjoy other people, we love other people, we get loved by other people. We need all this… but also just as important, perhaps even more so – we need a good relationship with OURSELVES.

It’s no good loving other people if we secretly HATE ourselves… WE, aside from our friends, lovers, relatives & colleagues – are all WE have got.. How can we truly enjoy a relationship with another person if we don’t like US.

It makes sense to love OURSELVES too. We are unique in this life, everyone has something great to offer someone. YOU are much more than you THINK.

So, back to the Pain/Pleasure principle… what motivates YOU…

Is it the Pain of NOT doing something, or is it the PLEASURE of doing it? – Why are you doing what you DO?

Here is my own personal Focus list.. I thought I would share with you today.

  • Each and every day I will work on my health – I need to OUTLIVE even my wildest DREAMS.

  • Each and every day I will build relationships with all people, both present and distant – each and every day in every way I will improve myself and build stronger relationships with those I live with, and live for.

  • Each and every day, I will build tangible wealth to support the many dreams I have installed in my mind, both for my own pleasure of seeing life pan out as I see it, and to help others make their own lives pan out as they see it.

Stay FOCUSED... Aim for something SPECIFIC... Avoid DISTRACTIONS.. Make Informed DECISIONS.

Growth: This is Why Personal Development is So Important

Growth: This is Why Personal Development is So Important

Growth
is an important topic when it comes to personal development, success and achieving goals. Those who do not develop further and grow, remain in their current situation and thus take many options.

This is how well-intentioned advice on personal growth can often be found, for example when you are facing difficulties or problems. Just grow with it and you can even benefit from the seemingly unfortunate situation.

It's just not that easy when growth is to be used specifically for development. We will explain to you what distinguishes growth from pure change, why it can be so difficult to grow and how you can still succeed ...

Growth Means More Than Just Change

Growth means change. A true statement, but mainly due to the fact that change is such a broad and general term. However, there can be a huge difference between changing and growing personally.

Changes can be very acute measures that you can undertake in a short period of time. In professional terms, changing jobs is a classic example. Depending on the notice period you can change immediately or within a few weeks.

Growth, on the other hand, is a long-term process that not only takes a few days, but can drag on for months, or in some cases years. There can be different triggers for personal growth. Standstill can be such an incentive, for example.

If you feel that things are not turning out the way you would like, growth can help you escape. The first impulse comes from the feeling of helplessness and the thought of not wanting to come to terms with it.

Unhappiness can also lead to growth if you feel limited or want to achieve more than is currently possible.

Growth usually means changing over an obstacle, asserting yourself and also struggling to develop personally and to overcome hurdles that are currently still blocking the way. Changes even on the other hand can also be evasive in order not to come into conflict with the difficulties in the first place.

Growth is Necessary But Difficult

There is no arguing about the benefits of growth. You develop further, develop new skills, strengthen positive character traits, learn to deal with difficult situations and shape your personality. This not only applies to children and adolescents who have to grow at a young age, but extends well into adulthood.

It would be wrong, however, to view growth as simple or even self-evident because of its necessity. Before you can really grow personally, there are a few difficult points you need to overcome first:

Fear and insecurity

At first, it is difficult to say exactly where the growth will take you. So there is always some uncertainty as to whether you are really developing in the right direction and whether you will be satisfied with the result in the end.

This fear can bring the entire growth to a halt and ensure that people prefer to hide in their previous comfort zone and avoid any innovations - even if they do not become happy as a result.

Self-Doubt

Self-doubt can also make growth difficult. Often there are thoughts like Can I even manage it? or Am I up to this situation? that makes you doubt that you can grow beyond yourself.

Admission

Even admitting that you need to grow is not always easy. After all, it also means that you have to realize that the way things are going for you at the moment cannot go on and that a development has to take place. To do this, you need to reflect and also be ready to practice a little self-criticism.

Missing Knowledge

Growth can happen naturally without you really worrying about it. However, this is far from always the case and you may stand there wondering where to start in order to grow.

This is How it Works With Personal Growth

Personal growth may not be accelerated, but you can learn what it takes if you are to grow and develop. With the following tips, nothing stands in the way of your growth:

Take Responsibility

The first step to growth is to take responsibility. This applies twice: On the one hand, it does not help you to blame someone else for the current situation. Don't point a finger to find someone to blame for why you're struggling with problems.

There is nothing you can do about that anyway. Instead, start with yourself.

On the other hand, you have to take responsibility for everything that is to come. Don't wait for someone to do it for you, develop the necessary initiative. If you want to grow and achieve something, you can only do it yourself.

Make Your Goals Clear

If you want to grow, you must first be clear about the direction and the goal. What exactly do you want to achieve? Where should the development take you? What should have changed in the end?

These can be skills or traits that you want to acquire, but personal growth can also mean that you want to become more confident, deal better with your own strengths and weaknesses, or develop a more open personality.

Develop Appropriate Strategies and Procedures

Following your goals, you can start thinking about how to achieve them and how to implement them. For this step, too, you can orient yourself to a few basic questions: In which ways can the goal be achieved?

What do you have to do for that? What should you be working on? Which option suits you best?

You should answer the last question for yourself personally. Often there are many ways to achieve your goal, but for your growth it is important that you choose exactly the one that is right for you.

Overcome Your Fear

It is easy to say, but it takes great courage to look back at reality. If you want to grow from a situation, you will have to face your fear. There can be no one hundred percent certainty that everything will go perfectly. Therefore, to encourage yourself, you should always think of the alternative.

If you don't grow, everything will remain as it is until now. Is that what you really want and can you come to terms with the fact that you missed an opportunity for many years? It may not be easy, but it is worth fighting for the result.

Keep Going

Last but not least, you mustn't let yourself get down. It will take some time for the growth to become noticeable and for you to achieve your desired goal. Don't panic if everything doesn't work right away and don't give up if things get difficult.

If you give yourself enough time and work hard, you can achieve almost anything you set out to do through growth.

It’s not ALL about how you use your time, it’s about how WELL you use your time..

And that’s about it… I hope to have another PERSONAL chat with you sometime…

If you have any comments. I would love to hear from you.
